Just wanted to remind everyone of our schedule for this weekend:
We are looking forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ with you. See you Sunday.
We wanted to remind you about the Christmas party. It is this Sunday, December 10, at 5:00. Please note the start time. I had announced before that it was at 4:00 but the time was changed to 5:00. We will start by having a traditional Christmas dinner (that being pizza). Our next activity will be the exchanging of gifts and then stealing said gifts from one another (a game called White Elephant/Bad Santa). We ask every family to bring 1 present. Typically something laying around your house is more than enough. With the gifts, we are going more for fun than practical.
Hope to see everyone this Sunday for Sunday School at 9:30, service at 10:30, and our Christmas party at 5:00.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Just wanted to clarify we WILL have Sunday School on Sunday. Sometimes we take off for holidays so just wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page. I am looking forward to it and will see you on Sunday.

As we announced this past Sunday, we are partnering with the Dream Center and their Affordable Christmas Program. The Dream Center made a post on Facebook for this event so I included that information below. Please bring the unwrapped presents over the next few weeks and the final drop off date will be Sunday, December 11. We are excited about this opportunity and looking forward to how the Gospel will go forth in Evansville through this ministry.
Looking for a way to help others this Christmas season? Dream Center’s Affordable Christmas empowers Jacobsville families to shop for toys for their children at the affordable price of $2 per toy. All of the proceeds then go towards family engagement activities throughout the year. We are asking for toys/items in the $25-$50 range, for children ages 0-18. This enables parents to buy toys that quickly become unaffordable to them at retail prices. The women’s ministry will be having two separate events on Monday, November 27th.
The women will meet at the church at 5:30 pm to help decorate the church for the Christmas season. Following that, at 7:00, they will be having a time of fellowship that will include Christmas treats and discussion of the Advent devotion book “Prepare Him Room.” Please let Sarah Aiton, Nancy Islam, Brenda Kerr, or Paula Runyon know if you’d like to read the book along with the other women so that they can order a book for you. The book is $8.50. The evening will be a great reminder on how to “Prepare Him Room” in our busy lives during the Christmas season. This will benefit not only you but your families as well.
Both of these events on Monday, November 27th, are open to all women high school age and above.
Dear Family,
I am writing to remind you of our annual members business meeting at Family Bible Church this Sunday, November 12, immediately following our worship service. All members over 18 are encouraged to attend so that we may establish a quorum needed to conduct business. We will be hearing a few brief reports on the state of our ministry and presenting our 2024 budget for your approval. In addition, our elders will present Brent Griffin and Dan Grimm Jr. for your approval as candidates to join our team of elders. You are familiar with these men since Brent joined our staff as Associate Pastor in April and Dan previously served for six years as one of our founding elders. Brandon Robards and Keith Findley are rotating off our elder team after six years of faithful service. Please thank these men for their steady guidance and prayers on our behalf. Keith has agreed to continue serving as a deacon and will need to be confirmed to that office by your vote of approval. I hope you will join us to consider these important matters.

It’s time to bust out your cowboy hat and dancing shoes. This Sunday we are meeting at the church at 5:00 for our barn dance. There will be chili and hot dogs, a hayride, and we are all going to become professional square dancers. I hope everyone is excited as I am and we hope to see everyone there.
One thing we do not read about in the Gospel letters are the fun times Jesus had with his disciples. I think it is safe to assume there were many, many times they sat around together, telling stories, and laughing together. Having a fun time in the Lord with brothers and sisters in Christ is one way to worship Him. I believe God is pleased when He sees His people enjoying each others company. We will worship Him on Sunday morning by singing, praying, and hearing the preaching of His Word; we will worship Him on Sunday night by gathering together and having a good time in the Lord. It will be in His Name that we play.
Hey all. We are having a lunch after church on Sunday and just wanted to make sure you remembered. One purpose of the lunch is that we always want to give our people a chance to be with each other and fellowship with one another. The second purpose of our lunch is to further advertise for our Sunday school. Each Sunday school class teacher will give a quick talk on what they are studying this fall and into the winter. The third purpose is that the addition is completed (at least the inside) and so we want to show it off. We are so excited God has provided all of this for us and we want to enjoy it even more with all of you.

Yesterday you probably got the post about Sunday school. You might also be aware our home fellowship groups are starting up next week as well. If you are not aware, these groups meet once a month at someone’s home. They will have a pitch-in dinner together and eat together for an hour or so and then they will start discussing a sermon from that Sunday or a previous Sunday.
The main purpose of the home fellowship groups is to foster friendship and love for each other. We hope this gives you a great opportunity to meet and get to know people that you worship with on Sunday. A list of the home fellowship groups is below.
