As many of you know, we will have our Runner’s Camp track meet on Friday starting at 5:30. We wanted to invite you all to come out to see a little bit of what Runner’s Camp is and also support the kids who will be running. We should have about 125 kids competing in several different events so there will be a ton of action.

The “opening ceremonies,” similar to the Olympic opening ceremonies, will start at 5:30 so you may want to get there a little earlier. You can sit in the home bleacher section which is on the west side of the football field. The gates in that area will be open.

The women’s ministry is planning a couple swim parties this fall. You are invited to meet at Dan and Ellen Grimm’s house on June 12 and June 26 at 10:30 am. Please bring all your swim gear and lunches for you and your family. Their address and Ellen’s phone number are below. Hope to see you there.

This is a reminder that THIS SUNDAY our service will begin at 10:00 am. We will be doing this for the months of June, July, and August. Looking forward to worshipping with you all this Sunday.

We are planning a men’s work day on Saturday, May 4th. The plan is to start about 7:30 am but please come if you can’t be there till 8:00 or 9:00.

There are a few things that need to be done but the primary mission is to make a path for long distance runners at Runners Camp by clearing out a running path around the field and lake that is to the east of the church. We have a bushhog which will make things much easier but we need some guys to cut down trees and take care of whatever else the bushhog can’t do. Once again, we do have other jobs though so if that’s not something you can do then we hope you still come.

We do ask you to bring some tools: shovels, chain saws, work gloves, concrete rakes, cordless drills, and drill bits.

One thing we want everyone to know is on that same day there is a recital hosted by our own Julie Wade for her Kindermusik classes. For this reason, we will be telling everyone more than once to not enter the worship area, to use the bathrooms in the new addition, and to park on the south side of the parking lot.

We hope to see you at church on the morning of Saturday, May 4th.

Since the home of at least one of our FBC families had significant damage from last night’s storm, we are trying to get organized to help those in need. This is just a reminder that we are having a breakfast on Easter Sunday starting at 9:45 am. We will have some breakfast casseroles and various homemade pastries. Our service will begin at 10:30 as scheduled. We hope to see you at 9:45 for breakfast.

This Sunday we are passing out door hangers to advertise for runners camp. 

The plan is to eat pizza immediately after church. Please bring drinks for your whole family. Then we will send you out to one of several neighborhoods that are close to the church. You will go out in teams and hang the door hangers on door handles. After about 45 minutes to an hour, you will be done and can go home.  

One very important point to make is that knocking on doors or talking with strangers will not be necessary. If you can hang a card on a door handle then you are more than qualified for this job.

If you cannot help with the door hangers, we do hope you stay to have pizza with us.

Following up on our Advent devotional, the Women’s Ministry presents a new spring idea.

Pick up a copy for $11 on Sunday 2/4 or 2/11. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14th. 

To “kick off” the devotional (…and also just an excuse to get the ladies together!) we will have a gathering on Monday 2/12 at 7pm at the church. Join us for nibbles and an activity. 

PS, our nibbles won’t be leftover Super Bowl snacks!! Join us for this whether you are doing the devotional or not!

I just wanted to send a reminder that Sunday school starts back up tomorrow, January 7th. We hope to see you at church at 9:30 for Sunday School and our service will start at 10:30 as always.

If any adults want to do some prep work for our adult Sunday School class, you can read the first two chapters of Philippians.
