Hey all,

We are planning another pickle ball night this Sunday at 4:00. There will be other things to do too so we hope you bring the whole family. We will be having salad, pizza, garlic bread, and desserts for dinner. We will also have a fire and s’mores too.

Things for you to bring:
1. Drinks for your family.
2. Lawn chairs.
3. Pickleball paddles (we will have extra if you do not have any).
4. Marshmallow roasting sticks.

We cherish times when our church family can be together and we hope you do too.
We hope to see you on Sunday at 4:00!!

We will be hosting the North Football Team for dinner this Thursday, October 3^rd. Kristy Hansen will be grilling hamburgers for the boys and providing a couple of side dishes. If you would like to help serve the dinner, please join us at 5 PM on Thursday. There are various items listed below that we would like families to contribute for the dinner (and the quantity needed).

• Desserts (8)
• Bags of chips (10)
• Cheese (2 large packages)
• Lemonade (2 large containers)
• Water Bottles (1 Case)
• Condiments (3 ketchup, 2 mustard)
• Sliced onion, sliced tomato, lettuce

If you plan to bring any of these items please text Kristy before Wednesday at 812.449.9230 since she will be making a grocery pickup. Please bring your items to FBC by Thursday at 4:45, or bring it with you if you are joining us to serve the meal.

We have talked a few times about the mentoring program through the Dream Center. People from the Dream Center want to schedule a time of training and we want to schedule that soon, meaning that if you are interested then we need to know ASAP if you want to be a mentor. We wanted to remind you that Sunday school is starting this Sunday. Sunday school classes will begin at 9:00 with our service starting at 10:00. As many of you know, we will have classes for every age group so please consider this a priority for your whole family. We trust the Lord will do great things and help us know Him more through our Sunday School classes this year and we strongly encourage you to be part of it.

We have announced a couple times about the opportunity to do some mentoring through the Dream Center. This will be an excellent chance to have an impact on a child’s life. They do encourage you to talk about your faith in God with the kids so the difference you make could be an eternal one. They ask that you spend about 4 hours every month with a child so its a fairly low commitment. You can read all the information at the link below.

We are excited for a special event coming this Fall! On September 22, Walk Through the Bible is coming to Family Bible Church.

Most Christians know many stories of the Old Testament but they are not sure how those stories fit into the larger story.  More importantly, knowing the larger story will teach us wonderful and glorious truths about God and can give us confidence in His promises.  Walk Through the Old Testament will help you step into the story, learn the story and equip you to effectively share it with others. By the end of this powerful and interactive live event, you will learn the key people, places and events of the Old Testament—without taking a single note. And you will have fun doing it!

Sunday, September 22, 9:00 AM—2:30 PM.
The first session of the OT LIVE event will take place during our Sunday School hour. Our church service will look very similar except the second session will be during the sermon time.  Then lunch will be provided at the church, after which we will continue our instruction which will wrap up by 2:30.

Cost: $10 per person, $50 maximum cost per family. Registration fee can be paid at Family Bible Church on any Sunday service prior to the event or on September 22. All participants will receive a guidebook. Children elementary age and up are encouraged to participate.

Hey all,

We are planning a game night on Sunday, August 11. It will start at 4:00. We will have outdoor games (we bought pickleball nets to set up in the parking lot but we will also have corn hole and a few other games) and indoor games (board games, card games, etc.). We will also have tacos for dinner. We have a specific menu for the taco bar so, if you have not volunteered to bring something yet, please text me at 812-455-6112 to sign up for something.

Just a couple things for you to bring:

2. Any board games or card games that you might like to play.

The women’s ministry is having another pool party. You are invited to meet at Dan and Ellen Grimm’s house this Wednesday, June 26, at 10:30 am. Please bring all your swim gear and lunches for you and your family. Their address and Ellen’s phone number are below. They hope to see you there.

We are taking a church canoe trip on Saturday, June 22.  We will meet at the church at 8:00 am and drive to Cave Country Canoes in Milltown, IN (its an 1:20 minute from the church and they are on eastern time).  We will get on the river about 11:00, go a ways down, park at a beach for lunch, and then finish the trip.  The canoe trip will take 3-5 hours so we should be back at the church by 5:30.

A canoe is $55 for two people, a kayak is $41 for one person, and if you have your own canoe or kayak it costs $26 for them to haul it for you.  The price will be a little lower if we have a great turn-out.  There are a few additional add-ons if your interested: seat cushions ($3), seat backs ($5), and cooler floats ($15). Life jackets are included in the price if your renting a canoe or kayak. Please have a check made out to the church for the amount for you and your family.  

There are some things you will need to bring:

1. As I said, we will stop at a beach for lunch so bring everything you will need, if possible in as water-tight of a container as possible.
2. Any other snacks or drinks you may need.
3. Sunscreen.
4. Bug spray.
5. Water shoes.
6. Sunglasses and/or a hat.
