Dear Family,
Family Bible Church has a fun event planned for next weekend! We have reservations with Cave Country Canoes on the Blue River for a half-day canoe trip on Saturday, June 10. We will depart from Family Bible Church at 8 A.M. on June 10. It is about an hour and twenty minutes drive from the church. Here are some things you will need to know about our trip.
The paddling is not terribly strenuous–even if you can barely steer a canoe and struggle to navigate your rubber ducky in the bathtub, you will still manage to get down the river. The Blue River is very calm, but with enough current to move everybody down stream and provide some spots for a swim for those who wish to along the way. We will bring our own lunches in coolers in the canoes. Please pack your own lunches and plenty to drink. We will find a beach somewhere on the journey and eat together. For other information on what to bring, see here (see “Pack It,” “Leave it,” “Store It,” “Wear It,” etc.). Canoe rental rates are $24 per person, assuming two paddlers per canoe. A third person may ride free in any canoe as long as they are under 13. Children must be at least 3 years old to participate and over 30 pounds. If your child is over 3 but under 30 lbs. they are welcome, but you will need to provide your own life vest.
Two important things to know about the trip:
- A waiver for Cave Country Canoes must be filled out– 1 for each family, it would speed things up at registration if you guys download this and bring it filled out in advance.
- We have to pay as a group on one ticket. Colin will put the purchase on his credit card and you can pay him. Canoe rental rates are $24 per person, assuming two paddles per canoe.
More information about the trip and questions you may have can be found here.
If you would like to come, please let us know by using the “contact us” form on our FBC web site. Please indicate how many people will be in your party.
Hope you will join us, it should be a great day.
