Food for the Ice Cream Social

Hello all,

We hope you plan on coming to the ice cream social on Sunday evening (another post will be sent out tomorrow with the specifics for it). This post is to communicate about the food.

We are asking for everyone with a last name that begins with A-M to bring a side item. If your last name begins with N-Z, please bring a dessert. We will be having pork butts as the main course.

We are looking forward to it and hope you are too.

Sunday School

Hello all,

We are starting Sunday School this Sunday!!! We are really excited about it and hope you are as well. We will begin at 9:00 am and then our service will start at the normal time of 10:00 am.

We believe Sunday School is an invaluable time with our church family. We want you to be there AND we need you to be there. As we talked about on Sunday, the benefits of Sunday School are endless: extra time for you and your family to learn about Gods Word, teaching your kids that being with God’s people is important, and more fellowship with other Christians are just a few reasons why Sunday School is really important for us.

We will have classes for every age. I am always encouraged knowing what is being discussed in all our different classes:
–In the nursery/toddler class they will discuss the deep theology of the trinity (not really, but I am sure your young kids will have fun in this class).
–The K-3 class started the Gospels in the spring and are finishing up this fall.
–Our 4th-8th grade class is continuing a New Testament overview and will begin with the launching of the church.
–The high school class will continue their study through the book of Luke.
–Finally, the adult class will be doing 6-10 week topical studies this year. We are starting a 6 week series on “Christians at Work” and will be discussing how we all have “work” to do for the Kingdom of God.

Once again, we cannot overstate how important we see Sunday School. FBC puts a lot of effort behind it and we really appreciate how our teachers take time to make this beneficial for you.

We hope to see you on Sunday at 9:00 am.

Nursing/Feeding Room

Hello all,

We wanted to make you aware of one change in our church building. The old nursery (by the bathrooms) is being changed to a nursing/feeding room for babies. This room will be for MOTHERS AND BABIES ONLY. Feel free to ask an elder any questions you might have.

A Tough Call

Dear Family,

What seemed a very difficult decision to make at the time turned out to be a no-brainer. At 4:15PM today I thought a smallish thunderstorm might pass quickly and leave a window in the weather for us to hold the Runner’s Camp track meet. I left the church as the rain started and planned to pick up a few items at home on the way to open the stadium. 10 minutes later I missed the turn onto Hillsdale Rd. because it was raining so hard I couldn’t see it. By 4:45 I was starting to get messages from volunteers who were having to turn around on the way to the stadium because of flooded roads. It became clear that I needed to cancel the track meet. As it turned out, I wouldn’t have gotten there anyway because our neighborhood roads were impassable from the flooding for over an hour.

I hated making the decision to cancel. The track meet is always a highlight and provides a great way to close out camp. It was still a great week. As always, I was so pleased by the service of our volunteer team. Thank you for your hard work and your great attitudes.

However, we still have a fair amount of equipment at Central Stadium that needs to be hauled back to the church and put away. If you can help, please meet at Central at 10 AM Saturday morning.

I am so grateful to God for all of you,

Pastor Colin

2. Drinks for your family
3. Chairs to sit outside to watch me whiff at the pickle ball.
4. Any other games you might like to play.
