Ground Breaking and Picnic tomorrow

Dear Family,

After church tomorrow, weather permitting, we will head over to the Husky Way property to pray and celebrate breaking ground on our new church home. Afterward, if the weather is nice enough we will reconvene at the 4-H playground for a picnic lunch. You will want to bring some play clothes with you tomorrow and lunch for your family.

See you in the morning,

Pastor Colin

Worship at Cambridge and Member’s Mtg. afterward this Sunday, 4/19

Dear Family,

As most of you know, last Sunday our congregation met at Kingmen’s for worship and discussion concerning our plans for our new church home on Husky Way. During our meeting we presented some revisions to the plans we approved at our last Member’s Meeting on 11/23/2014 and the state of our finances with respect to adding the additional bay. We also made an appeal for any who wish to give resources from their pledges in year 2 or 3 of our capital campaign early (between now and September when we will have to pay Kinetic Church Design on completion of construction).

Confident of your faithfulness to give as you have pledged, our elders met last night and we believe God has provided sufficient resources to move forward with our plans. However, because the cost of the added options and the additional bay are above the amount we approved to spend at our last meeting, this Sunday 4/19 we will have a brief Member’s Meeting following our service at Cambridge to discuss the details of our finances and vote to approve spending for construction to begin. As always, we need as many of our members as possible to be present at this meeting to make this important decision together.

Thanks for your commitment to Family Bible Church,

Pastor Colin

Welcome Baby Johann!

Dear Family,

Congratulations to the Johann family on the birth of Evan Philip, Tuesday, 4/7. If you would like to bless the Johann family by providing a meal and allowing Shanna to get some much needed rest, please sign up for the Johann meal train (you will need to create a meal train user account).

Thanks for being a blessing!

Pastor Colin

Worship service, congregational meeting and lunch at Kingmen’s this Sunday

Dear Family,

This Sunday, 4/12, Family Bible Church will be meeting at Kingmen’s Event Facility, 15901 Petersburg Rd. at 9 AM. Following the service we will have a congregational meeting (everyone is invited) to discuss revisions and remaining needs for our new home on Husky Way. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for our kids to enjoy the playground during our discussion. The following week, 4/19, our members will meet briefly following our service back at Cambridge to vote on these revisions.

After our congregational meeting, We will have a meal together. The main course (fried chicken) and tableware will be provided. If families with last names beginning with A-L will bring a dessert and a side dish and families beginning with M-Z will bring two side dishes we should have plenty to eat. Also if each family could provide their own drinks that would be great.

Looking forward to being with you all again this Sunday,

Pastor Colin

Easter Service at Stringtown tomorrow

Dear Family,

As a reminder, we will worship our risen Lord at Stringtown Elementary School, 4720 Stringtown Rd. at 9 AM. Please enter the parking lot from Mill Rd. After our service we will have an Easter egg hunt so please bring baskets, etc. for the kids to use.

Can’t wait to be with you on the Lord’s Day Easter morning!

Pastor Colin

Set your clocks ahead (and HS group news)

Dear Family,

As a reminder, set your clocks ahead tonight to arrive at church on time tomorrow due to the Daylight Savings Time change.

Also, the high school group will not be meeting tomorrow evening. We have some of our high school youth either serving on the Chrysalis team (Xavier Johnson and Mary Beth Grimm) this weekend or attending that retreat (Cooper Pokorney). As an alternative, our high school students are invited to attend the Chrysalis closing ceremony at CFC, 4:30 PM to celebrate with our students what God has done in their lives this important weekend.

Middle School Group will be meeting as scheduled at the Johann home at 6-7:30 PM.

See you tomorrow,

Pastor Colin

Drop Box Movie

Dear Family,

Some of you have probably heard of the new film from Focus on the Family, The Drop Box about a pastor in South Korea who created a way for unwanted infants to have a chance at life. I would like to invite any of you who wish to join my family in seeing this film Wednesday, March 4, at 7 PM at AMC Evansville 16, 5600 Pearl Dr. For more information about the film please watch the trailer. If you would like to go, I suggest ordering tickets online in advance as the film is only in town three days and it may sell out.

I hope you will join me in supporting this important project,

Pastor Colin
