Barn Dance and Canned Peas

Here is what you need to know about the upcoming Family Bible Church Barn Dance and also a way we can support the Rescue Mission’s Gobbler Gathering by collecting canned peas.

First, the barn dance. It will be on November 14th at the church building starting with food at 5pm. Square dancing will follow around 6pm. We have an official square dance caller coming to direct the dancing, so be sure to dress the part and find yourself a partner! The dancing and food will be inside. A hay ride and a fire will be outside.

The men’s ministry has an opportunity to serve the rest of the family by men bringing their best chili/soup. There will even be a competition for the best one. Whoever plans on bringing a chili/soup needs to let either Ken Hansen or Keith Findley know so that an accurate amount of food is provided. Please contact us if you need to get in touch with them but do not have their contact info.

Everyone please bring your own drinks and a side or dessert to share.

Now, the canned peas. The Evansville Rescue Mission has served those in need by supplying a Thanksgiving meal each year. We can take part in serving by collecting canned peas for the distribution.

We need to collect 500 cans of peas as a church! Bring your cans to the church building by November 16.

See you all soon,

John

Do not worry if you would like to participate and have yet to sign up. There is still time, but don’t wait! The first week requires no preparation since it is video only. Friends are welcome to join.

Sunday School

Sunday school at FBC resumes in just over a week! Beginning September 12, we will offer a few different classes divided by age. Each class begins at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. The church service will remain at 10:30am.

Here is a little preview of the class divisions and the content for each. The K-3rd grade class will learn about who God is and what it means to have a relationship with Him through a series called “Foundations of Faith.” The 4-8th grade class will learn how to read God’s Word by studying Job and Ecclesiastes. The High School class will follow along with the sermon series through Romans.

The adult class will read the book Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. Books are provided. We also will have volunteers in the nursery during the Sunday school hour for any kids below Kindergarten.

See you Sunday!
