Runners Camp Door Hangers

Family,

We will get together for an all church event this coming Sunday (2/27) to hang door hangers throughout a few Northside neighborhoods. As of now, it looks like it will be 50 degrees and sunny on Sunday.

We will meet at the church at 4pm to gather into groups. Each group will be assigned a particular neighborhood. We will go hang as many door hangers as we’re able then return by 5:30pm to eat dinner together.

BBQ and sides will be provided. Please be sure to bring your own drinks, though.

If you are not able to participate in hanging the door hangers then please still feel welcome to join for dinner.

See you Sunday,

John

All Church Game Night

Church family,

We will get together this coming Sunday evening (1/23) for dinner, fellowship, and fun at 5:30pm at the church building. Fried chicken will be provided. You can bring your own dish if you’d like something else. We ask that each family bring a side or dessert to share. Please also bring your own drinks and your favorite family-friendly board game and/or card game.

After dinner, we’ll informally play games in small groups as we continue to fellowship. Come even if you have no desire to play games. You can watch others or fellowship with those not playing. It will be an easygoing night, so feel free to play, watch, or do a little bit of both!

See you Sunday,

John

Sunday school

We will have Sunday school at 9:30am tomorrow before the main church service at 10:30am.

We have taken a break for the past several weeks but will offer Sunday school classes for all ages the hour before the main service moving forward unless otherwise announced.

See you at church,

John

Sunday school Update

Family,

We will return to Sunday school at 9:30am before the 10:30am main service this upcoming Sunday (1/9). This applies for all classes EXCEPT the adult class.

I, John Grimm, will lead the upcoming adult class. However, there is currently a positive Covid case in my home, so we will miss church on Sunday. With that said, the return of the adult Sunday school class is postponed until 1/16. All other classes will resume this coming Sunday (1/9).

Though the restart for the adult class is postponed, we’d like to provide some information about the focus of the new class. Starting on 1/16 and ending in May, the adult class will walk through Family Bible Church’s Doctrinal Statement. We will study the foundational beliefs that we hold on as a body of believers which God has made known to us in His Word. You can read the statement on the What We Believe section of the church website.

This class is designed for people of a wide range of biblical knowledge stretching from nearly none to extensive. Everyone needs a firm, theological foundation and nobody stops learning about God. Now, the word “doctrine” might sound dry to some, but I assure you that God and the truth revealed to us in His word are anything but dry!

It is my prayer that we grow in faith and love of God by learning and reminding one another of His glory.

Looking forward to being back with you all,

John

Tornado Relief

Tornadoes devastated parts of Kentucky over the weekend, and our neighbors to the South are in need of help. Many have lost their lives and more are left lacking basic life necessities due to the tremendous damages.

A small team from FBC will go down to Dawson Springs, KY on Saturday to meet with a local connection and survey how we as a church can help moving forward. Anyone can help by bringing non-perishable foods, water, and baby items (diapers, wipes, etc) to the church building. This is something that people in Dawson Springs and other places in Kentucky will need for the foreseeable future, so we can continue to collect those items far beyond this Saturday.

If you would like to bring items to the church building and are not sure if anyone will be there, then contact me (John): 812-550-4077.

If you have questions or want to help in addition to bringing items, then contact Neil Bryant: 812-499-3242.

Christmas Party

Merry Christmas, Family Bible Church!

Our church Christmas party will be this coming Sunday (12/12) at 5:30pm. As always, feel free to bring any friends. We’ll eat together, play games, and fellowship in celebration of our Lord’s coming to the earth as a baby. Pizza and cookies for decorating will be provided.

Here are the 2 things each family needs to bring: Your own drinks & a wrapped white elephant gift for a fun gift exchange. 1 gift per family. Don’t bring anything expensive. It can be something from home that you’ve been wanting to get rid of!

Looking forward to seeing you all soon,

John

No Sunday school

With it being Thanksgiving weekend, we will not have Sunday school. We will resume Sunday school on December 5th.

Hope you all are enjoying the holiday weekend and time with family!

No Sunday school 11/14

Family,

We are looking forward to a full day of fellowship on Sunday (11/14). The members meeting will take place immediately after the 10:30am church service and the barn dance will begin at 5pm.

Given the additional events that day, we will take a week off from the normal 9:30 Sunday school hour. People are welcome to still come to the church at 9:30 to help set up the room for the barn dance that evening.

Sunday school will resume the following week on 11/21.

God bless,

John
