Heads up – Please put Nov 5 (*only 2 Sundays away*) on your calendar for an all-church breakfast at 9:30am to fill Operation Christmas Child boxes.
This Sunday, October 29, we will have handouts, details on what can/cannot go in boxes and Savannah Sullivan will be taking pictures (this Sun & next) of kids, families, individuals — whatever you would like so we can include that picture in the box so the sweet recipient knows who packed & is praying for them!
We have some football related fun and service opportunities this week at Family Bible Church this week.
On Thursday, October 12, we will be hosting a dinner for the North Huskies football team at FBC. If you are able to come early to help set up for the dinner, preparations will begin at 4:30 PM. If you are able to bring a dessert, please bring it by 5 PM. I hope you will join us in supporting our neighbors.
On Friday, October 13, FBC will have an all-church Tailgate Party at 5 PM prior to the North/Central football game. We will have corn hole, can jam, a bonfire and will begin serving hotdogs and hamburgers at 5. Please bring your own drinks and lawn chairs.
Tomorrow morning (10/1), as a celebration of God’s faithfulness, we will be serving breakfast at Family Bible Church at 9:30 before our worship service at 10:30. If you join us you will be obeying the command of our Lord Jesus Christ, who said in John 21:12, “Come and have breakfast!”
In response to the profound need of so many in the wake of recent hurricanes in Puerto Rico, Florida, Texas and various islands throughout the Caribbean, our entire offering this Sunday will be given to Samaritan’s Purse to aid in their relief efforts. I am confident that you will come prepared to give generously. Please make checks payable to Family Bible Church and then we will make one contribution from FBC.
Please join Family Bible Church for an evening of fun and fellowship this Sunday, Sept 17th. We will have a cornhole tournament, plus volleyball and other lawn games. Loitering is encouraged for those not competitively inclined.
Cornhole tourney begins at 4:15pm. Dinner will be at 5.
Please bring either a crockpot of chili or a side dish and don’t forget to bring your own drinks and lawn chairs.
As a reminder, our Fall semester of Sunday School begins tomorrow with a six week follow up to our Walk Thru the Old Testament live event last Sunday. At 9:30 we will have classes for children through adults, and everyone will be learning the same material for the next six weeks.
Our worship service will begin afterward at 10:30 as usual.
For those of you who have registered to participate in the Walk Thru the Old Testament Live Event this Sunday, we will be serving lunch immediately following our worship service. The main course (fried holy bird) and tableware will be provided. If families with last names beginning with A-M will bring a dessert and a side dish and families beginning with N-Z will bring two side dishes we should have plenty to eat. Also if each family could provide their own drinks that would be helpful.
If you have not registered already, you might change your mind after experiencing Part 1 during our worship service. You can still register, but I can’t promise you a Guidebook.
Lot’s of people have signed up for this event. It’s going to be a great day!
The registration deadline for our Walk Thru the Old Testament live event on August 13 is this Sunday, August 6. We will need to give a final count on Monday to have materials for the event here by the 13th. Information on how to register is available here. Childcare is available. I hope you will join us–it is going to be a great day of learning and fun!
It looks like the Lord has blessed us with clearing weather for tonight’s Runner’s Camp Track Meet. If you have been unable to make it out to camp this week, please come cheer for the kids as they run, jump and throw in the events of track and field. The meet begins at 5:30. You may wish to bring a towel in case the stadium benches are still damp. There will be hot dogs, chips and drinks for a small fee.
