There is an opportunity coming up next Tuesday that I want you to be aware of. Next Tuesday, March 20 the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry will be holding its annual fundraiser banquet for their ministry in the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center. I have chosen to host a table at this event largely because of Sr. Chaplain Alan Wood’s proven track record of faithful, fruitful and gospel-centered ministry to those who are incarcerated. It is a ministry worth supporting and I hope some of our people will investigate becoming involved beyond this banquet.
I think it will be an interesting evening. The banquet will be held at the Airport Holiday Inn (formerly the Marriott, 7101 US Hwy 41 North from 6-8 PM. The guest speaker is a fellow named Jack Murphy: notorious jewel thief, concert violinist, hall of fame surfer, convicted murderer and worldwide ambassador for Christ. Sounds like a good candidate for the “World’s Most Interesting Man!” There will also be music and a testimony from a former inmate at Vanderburgh County Confinement Center. The meal is complimentary, but there will be an appeal for funds to support the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry.
Reservations are required. I have room for 8 at my table and 4 spots are already taken, so if you would like to go, I suggest that you contact me soon.
